Exterior window shutters have no functionality of them, and instead are used nowadays as decoration, and this is not the case with interior shutters. The functionality of interior window shutters comes from the louvers and tilt bar they are connected to, which allows homeowners to freely move their window shutters unlike exterior window shutters.
